News
Our parish consists of the three communities of Thorngumbald, Camerton and Ryehill in the East Riding of Yorkshire, approximately 8 miles east of the City of Hull on the A1033 road which leads to Withernsea. Thorngumbald is the largest of the three communities with approx. 3,000 residents, leading through to Camerton. Ryehill is situated off the A1033.
The village boasts two public houses and one micro-pub. The parish also has two places of worship, St Mary’’s Church and a Methodist Chapel. In addition, the village also has a number of shops, a post office, pharmacy and small co-op store.
Thorngumbald Village Hall is a popular venue for regular events including Yoga, Weight-watchers, Zumba, and many more and is also the home of Thorngumbald PreSchool. We also have a second venue in Ryehill Village Hall, including Table Tennis and Indoor Bowls . All these activities and others can be found on the Village Halls page, under Parish Information. The Trustees of Ryehill Village Hall are currently fund-raising to try to renovate the hall to its former glory.
The purpose of this website is to provide residents, businesses and other agencies with up to date information on the Parish. If you’re a local business and wish to be considered for having your business advertised on our website, please contact us.
